A vegetarian Indian restaurant called New Freezeland plans to open at 2116 S. Hurstbourne Parkway, just north of Taylorsville Road. Its menu focuses mostly on sandwiches, although there are also some entrees like hakka noodles along with milkshakes and snacks.
New Freezeland is a small chain that was founded in India in 1983; it has two locations in North America — one near Toronto and the other in the Chicago suburbs — and several more planned. The Louisville franchise’s owners also own Fire Oven Pizza, which offers both traditional and Indian pizzas.

Once this place opens, there will be seven Indian restaurants on the stretch of Hurstbourne from Shelbyville Rd to the Stony Brook shopping center (Umiya Kitchen, Shalimar, EggHolic, Shreeji, New Freezeland, Sankalp, Bombay Grill), along with two Indian groceries (Patel Brothers, Jay Hind). Certainly a lot of options for people who like Indian food.
