Great Bagel & Bakery is coming to Middletown

Great Bagel & Bakery is planning a location at 12905 Shelbyville Road, near Buffalo Wild Wings and Samurai Sushi. They put up a sign recently, and the website says it will open this month (July).

Great Bagel is a Lexington business. It has two locations there, one of which just reopened after a fire. According to its website, Great Bagel mills its own flour, which I assume is unusual for a bagel bakery.

Interesting news! Born2Bagel at the western edge of Middletown does a good job and seems to be popular. I imagine this is far enough east to not be direct competition.

I'm wondering what's going to happen with Born2Bagel, now that Publix is moving into that shopping center.

I don't think the new Publix will affect any of the other businesses in the shopping center. The plans Publix filed with the city show Born2Bagel right next to the Publix liquor store.
