Looking for Mercurio's reviews

by Jerry C » Wed Feb 26, 2025 1:21 pm

I have a friend who is starting Karaoke at Mercurio's Music and Restobar (official name) next Tuesday. There are about 20 of us that enjoy the KDJ and their vast selection of Karaoke music. I looked up the menu and prices and was somewhat shocked at their price points (especially for Hikes Point). ($17.49 for their burger?) Edit: that may have been a delivery company price...I am seeing $14 elsewhere.

Can anyone chime in about their experiences with Mercurio's?

TIA

Jerry, I was today years old when I heard about that. Richland Avenue in Hikes Point?

Their website looks really interesting, though.

Went to Mercurio's for karaoke and dinner last night and was impressed. Our karaoke group pretty much slammed them with about 35 folks (not all sing), but the wait staff was up to the challenge...pretty extensive menu of bar food type items (wings, pizza, tenders, etc.). Our order came out about 15 minutes after ordering and the food was above average.

Looks like the karaoke will continue there on Tuesday nights. I am sure ownership was pleased because other than our group, there were only about 6 others at the bar.

If you're willing, Jerry, I'd love to hear about how a karaoke group works! It sounds like fun! :D

Actually Robin there is nothing special to it. There are literally dozens of karaoke jockeys (KJ) here in town. Each one seems to develop a following of folks whether it be because of location of the venue, friendship with the KJ, quality of the music and system, or a myriad of other reasons. After a few sessions the folks get to know one another and many become friends. The group tends to grow over time and you may end up with 1-3 dozen followers.

If you get a decent following the KJ can use that to convince a restaurant or other venue to pay him/her to perform a 1-4 hour karaoke session. That very well might be 30+ folks coming and spending $$ that might not otherwise have come.

I am sure you sing in the shower, Robin? Come out to Mercurio's Tuesday night 6-9 and belt out a tune or two!

Oh, I can sing, Jerry! I actually sing tenor in the St. Matthew's Episcopal choir. But I'm mostly a classical nerd with an overlay of '60s folk. I don't know most of the karaoke tunes!

Just as well you did not go last night Robin. I filled my vehicle with 4 ladies (all live in the same apartment as my lady friend), and went to Mercurio's last night and NONE of our Karaoke group was there! Apparently last week was a trial run and the KJ is waiting to hear back from management about a weekly gig.

I somehow missed the memo on that and felt like a big donkey!

We go to Fiesta Mexicana on Monday and Wednesday evenings if you want to work out the chords!
