Tried this place for lunch today. The mole was very good. It's listed on the menu as "Abuela's Mole," with a choice of bone-in or boneless chicken, so I asked our server how her abuela would eat it, already knowing the answer would be bone-in, so I ordered it that way once she confirmed. The tortilla dip trio was outstanding. The chips are made in house, and are very much not salty. I prefer that, because you can taste the topping better. Beans are not usually my favorite, but the bean dip was amazing and my favorite of the three. The salsa was a close second—sweet and smoky. The guac was good, but could use some jalapeño. I tried a piece of one of my dad’s flautas, and they were great.
It is in a small former house on Frankfort Avenue, a couple doors down from the old El Mundo. It took a while to get our food, but it was well worth the wait. Will definitely be back here.
