Looks like we are getting another new Indian restaurant on Blankenbaker in the "cursed" location next to El Corporal, where it seems nothing survives for very long. It is actually a chain with locations all over the country, according to their website at https://www.bawarchibiryanis.com/Locations

Has anybody ever visited this ? I will have to give it a try since it is only 5 minutes from my house, and will be the closest Indian restaurant near me

Never tried it, but I'm crazy for Indian food so will probably head out that way before long. Based on your evaluation of the location, I should probably get there soon! :)

I was surprised how large this chain is. It has about 45 locations already open, according to the website, and more than 60 planned.

I was in Knoxville about 2 months ago on the University of TN campus. A colleague spotted an Indian kiosk in the food court area. I can't recall the name of the place but they were just starting out. It was pretty good stuff and brightened my afternoon!

I've eaten Indian "fast food" in a Quebec City mall as well. It makes sense when you think more along the lines of Chipotle than McDonalds.

I noticed that Bawarchi has franchises in Toronto and Mississauga, Ontario. The greater Toronto area has a massive Indian population with reportedly the largest Sikh community outside of India. So hopefully, this is a trend with legs!.
