Friend's Fusion Food

by Nathaniel C » Fri Nov 08, 2024 8:42 pm

This opened fairly recently, basically across the street from the Kentucky Truck Plant off of Westport Road. It's nice to see a Peruvian establishment branch out beyond the rotisserie chicken specialty (which Carali's and Yummy Pollo already do extremely well). I was in the area and ordered a lomo saltado to go. After a 20 minute drive home, it was still tasty. I found the "hot" sauce that I requested on the side to be mild for my taste. Also, the menu and prices in the restaurant seemed to be different than what was on their website--perhaps check their Facebook page. They appear to sometimes offer daily specials. Also, they are on DoorDash, so I might order up some of their other other dishes.

We'll have to check that out. I had some really good food in Lima and Iquitos on a trip to Peru years ago, and some tasty food in Cuzco in the Andes that felled me with Montezuma's Revenge for a couple of days. :P

Super nice folks. We had their food truck at an event we did this summer. Seemed to go over well - It was an extremely hot day and by the time I was ready to eat, they were completely sold out of veggie options. I hope they do well!

I found them originally at a Farmer's Market on Westport Rd.

I saw online that there’s another new Peruvian restaurant in town. Raymi Peruvian and Mexican Cuisine opened a few months ago at 10001 Forest Green Blvd., off North Hurstbourne Parkway. There isn’t much information available online, but one customer posted photos of the menu:

Richard, thanks for that info. Interesting, I noticced that address right away and realized it's the building originally occuped by Limestone, a very fancy, very expensive spot run for a while by a former chef from the Seelbach Oakroom. I wonder if Raymi is occupying the entire space and if it still has that upscale vibe.

I can't tell you how much I miss Limestone. A corner booth was "my table" for lunches with clients. Now I'm relegated to Capital Grille - no complaints, but it's a bit more steak-house vibe than I care for.

TP, if I'm not mistaken, Mary and I joined you and your bride at that table once ... good memories!
