Kroger Market Place

by James Natsis » Mon Nov 04, 2024 9:58 pm

Lucky us out in the Fern Creek/Highview area. We already have a Kroger (with a drive thru pharmacy and gas station), a next door Walmart, a Starbucks, and about 50 acres of deforested land off the Snyder at Bardstown Rd that probably won't be developed for another generation.

But heh, now one will be able to drive one exit west to Beulah Church to eventually find a 125,000 ft Kroger (with a drive thru pharmacy and gas station), another Starbucks, and who knows how many treeless acres stripped to the hilt! In addition, instead of only having backed up traffic at Bardstown Rd., thanks to "progress," we'll get to enjoy another hi trafficked exit, backed up to the Snyder for our convenience.

Funny, I was ruminating similarly about all the development around the Snyder at the LaGrange Road/Factory Lane exit. Build a freeway interchange and they will come, I guess. :(

I'm scheduled to substitute teach a half day early next week at an elementary school off of Factory Lane. I'll check it out (I retired from West Virginia State University last December after an enjoyable 25 yr career there. I'm finally enjoying Louisville fulltime these days after years of weekly commuting).

In all fairness to the absentee developers at Beulah Church, at least they are building the development about a 1/2 km off the highway which spares the more natural sightline.

James, thanks for the information, and best wishes on your newly retired and no longer commuting state!

Thanks Robin. Its nice to have more control over my time these days.

I thought about running for president. But I'm too young and not yet demented to be taken seriously. I'll have to wait about a dozen years or so!
