Very sad news. I just happened to hear on the news that Anoosh Shariat passed away this morning at age 66 after a long battle with cancer. I tried to find a news link but couldn't locate one. Could be the news was just released. He made a big impact in this town and will be greatly missed.

Very sad - he was such a good person and a light in our community. My family was luck enough to call him a friend. My mom got to see him on Saturday. We love you Paula! I have known you longer than most people in my life. Thank you for bringing Anoosh into our life. Thank you for always taking such good care of my momma!

Yes, very sad indeed. He actually fought his cancer for several years longer than the doctors had forecast, and held up very well, staying active until near the end.

I too had followed him since probably close to his arrival here. Does anyone else remember Reminton's on Hurstbourne, which preceded Shariat's? Classy place with genuine Frederic Remington statues all around and outstanding food.

As many others have said, he was one of the good ones, kind and thoughtful and without any enemies that I've ever heard of.

I have fond memories of Remington's from when I first moved to Louisville and found it as one of my early favorite white tablecloth dinner spots. Remember the sculpture in the lobby?

I do indeed. Not a Kmart replica, I don't believe ...
