Mercury in Seafood?

by Eliza W » Thu Feb 14, 2008 12:51 pm

I don't know if anyone here keeps up with it, but there was a recent report that seafood in some upscale NY restaurants had an ungodly amount of mercury.

Because I'm feeding a baby, I already avoid tuna and certain other fishes, but now I'm becoming increasingly concerned.

Is there anyone who monitors the mercery content in local seafood, and can I get numbers?

Eliza, here's a guide from the Sierra Club that may be useful for you. Since it's an environmental society, it probably errs on the side of caution, but I expect that will work well for your needs.
