In Town for 2 weeks, what new spots should I try?

by Laura B » Wed Sep 27, 2023 2:25 pm

I have lived away from Louisville now for 8 years in Miami and while we return here at least every year, we always seem to find ourselves at our tried and true favs like Porcini, Caffe Classico and Varanese. What's new and notable and not too hard to get into that you suggest that we try?
When in doubt, add more wine.

Here's a list of some places to try, though obviously not old... And most of these are quite expensive.

Jack Fry's
Malone's
Difabio Casapela
Jeff Ruby's
Repeal
Volare
Ciao
Coals

Hope this helps!

I was reasonably impressed with Nami, Ed Lee's new Korean-fusion place on East Main. Not cheap, but not priced at 610 levels either. I think the buzz may be dying down a little, but it's probably still wise to reserve in advance and/or be willing to take an early reservation.

Anoosh Bistro is another top spot in my opinion, and I'm pretty sure opened within that 8-year window. Also not cheap, but worth it.
