Jake & Elwoods

by Ron H » Tue Jun 13, 2023 3:06 pm

I just saw on Instagram that Jake & Elwoods is closing effective immediately.

Per IG: To all of our customers, friends and family: It is with a sadden heart I must inform you that effectively immediately Jake & Elwood's will permanently be closed.

It has been a real joy getting to know all of you and being a member of the Clifton and greater Louisville community. Thanks for all the memories!

Sincerely,

John

Did they give any reason for their closing?

That's all that was posted on IG and Facebook.

I just heard this news and am so sad. We just ate on their patio 2 weeks ago and even had a conversation with one of the owners (conversation completely unrelated to the restaurant). I commented to my husband when we walked in how slow it seemed, especially for a Friday night, but thought that most of their business was probably take-out. We will miss their Chicago deep dish, my big fat Greek salad, and their hospitality.

Never ate here, but for some reason I have a thing about businesses that imply a connection to an established brand without actually having one. It just seems sketchy to me.
