From Louisville gift suggestions

by Kim H » Fri Jun 02, 2023 1:38 am

I was wondering if you all had any suggestions for a good hostess/host gift for a couple who will be hosting us in Chicago? I'm not sure they drink bourbon, but they do like craft beer. I haven't been drinking beer for a while and have no idea what brewery might be a good representation. I thought about going to Taste of Kentucky for ideas, but looking at their website, I got a little overwhelmed. Any ideas? (it doesn't necessarily need to be food/drink) TIA!

I also think bourbon barrel foods along with Moss Hill products. If you go to Work the Metal, it is a one stop shop and you will find many options.

Something from Kentucky is great, but if they're not into the bourbon culture a gift certificate from LEYE.com is always appreciated (Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises, owners of around 100 restaurants in greater Chicago at all price and quality points)! You can buy one at any price level from any of their restaurants or over the net.

Yes, but that defeats your whole purpose of wanting something from Kentucky for them to remember her and the trip by.

Thank you so for the great responses/suggestions! It doesn't have to be from KY, that's just where my thought was leaning. And the Chicago restaurant gc is actually a pretty good thought as they are moving, so that's an alternative to offering them something else to pack. She's just incredibly thoughtful, and I'd like to pretend like I am too. Lol

You might try checking out the Speed Art Museum gift shop.

Serendipitously, I was in Kroger-Westport yesterday, and they had a new display where they had put together gift baskets full of Kentucky Proud products. Problem solved! :D

I love the idea of the Speed's gift shop! I'll have to keep that in mind in the future!
