gelato gilberto ends winter hiatus

by Justin Gilbert » Mon Feb 11, 2008 3:58 pm

Just a quick note to let you guys know that Gelato Gilberto has Reopened for the Season! In honor of Valentine's Day, we are offering the following lovey-dovey flavors:
Truffle Honey
Chianti and Roses
Red Passion Chocolate
Bacio ('kiss' in Italian)

I had a good time in Italy where I attended a gelato trade show in Rimini. It is the third year in a row that we have attended. We always get good ideas there and this year is no different. This year we saw alot of liquor infused gelato flavors. We are going to work on this to delevop some flavors involving grappa and chianti wine. Of course we have already used bourbon in two flavors--bourbon ball and double bourbon pear--but we would love to hear some other ideas...any suggestions? Thanks!

WELCOME BACK JUSTIN! Chianti infused Gelato sounds wonderful! Can't wait to see what you have in store.

I had a sublime blueberry thyme flavored gelato at Capagiro in Philadelphia...not that you should just copy them but WOW it was phenomenal.

Glad to see one of my fave places in the purlieus has reopened. I shall visit soon, after I take the grilled cheese challenge. I think some gelato would be a fitting end to a great grilled cheese sandy.
Great food along with great company is truly one of lifes best treasures.
