Kentuckians out of James Beard Awards finals

Sadly, it doesn't appear that any of our state's entries remain in the Beard finals released just now.

Any theories on why we have such little success with the Beard Awards? Is it just a Kentucky bias?

I'm not sure. I was a judge for several years until my term ended. I could never prove this, but I got the impression that a Louisville-based PR firm did such an aggressive job of pushing their clients to Beard that there was some instinctive pushback. Dunno if that's still the case.
