Willie, we don't usually set up one because so few places are open, but this can be it! I'll pin it for a while and let's see what people know. :)

We are doing Goose Creek diner this year for a pick up and go. They're small, and independent and felt like it was in keeping with helping the local industry.

thanks y'all for the "pick up and go" suggestions. in this case, we've got an elderly couple that're really looking for a couple of hours "out of the house", so I'm looking for a "dine-in". I know there won't be a lot of choices - probably the (big) hotels might be nice?

I called Goose Creek and they said they wouldn't be open that day, though CQ is. I'm hoping to get same-day carryout instead of something like Kaelin's where it's cooked the day before. I respect anyone who wants to give their employees the day off, but a few more might be open given the chance to make some money in these times, and we have moved to carrying or eating out over the holidays (already planning for Dakshin on xmas day).

This may not be what you're looking for, but a lot of chains are open on Thanksgiving. I was a bit surprised to see that Mitchell's Fish Market is open -- I'd forgotten that was a chain.

Rich, I came here to say that. :) Both dine-in and a big boxed takeout dinner, not the seafood you'd expect but a traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings. I'm not sure if this link is the same as yours above ... it contains the menu and prices.

Robin, the link I gave is to a story about national chains that are open for dining in on Thanksgiving. The chains listed that have restaurants in this area are:

Bob Evans
Cracker Barrel
Golden Corral
Joe’s Crab Shack
Logan’s Roadhouse
Mitchell’s Fish Market
Morton’s the Steakhouse
Ruth’s Chris Steak House
Waffle House

Thanks, Rich. Got it! Waffle House on Thanksgiving sounds kinda sad, though.
