Best place for a gringo to try menudo

by Nathaniel C » Sun Nov 14, 2021 10:09 pm

As the subject line says... Preferably somewhere I can get it to go so I can spare them and me both the embarrassment of my (probably) not liking it.

I haven't tried it, but El Molcajete would be a good guess. Very authentic, and its proximity to Churchill Downs and its popularity mean they're used to serving gringos. Sort of the Vietnam Kitchen of Mexican places?

I’m not a big menudo guy, but Supermercado Guanajuato on Preston has a good version. Like most places, the menudo there is Sunday-only.

Taqueria in Crestwood has it on weekends but I'm betting El Mariachi has it daily but not sure.

I second Guanajuato. I and the lady friend hit the one in Beuchel all the time for lunch and groceries.
