Another "Greasy Spoon" question

by Nimbus Couzin » Sun Oct 24, 2021 12:12 pm

Hi All,

Louisville folks...I've tried the search feature, but I'm STILL looking for a greasy spoon for breakfast. Just want a decent omelette with hash browns or potatoes of some sort. No meat needed or desired. I don't want some yuppie place where the omelettes start at $10 or $12 pricepoint. Looking for cheap. Anything out there????

It seems like there should be something affordable/cheapo out there. Until then, breakfast at home (which is fine). I can't justify $50 for breakfast for three of us. I seem to be able to find such places in other cities, but not here.

Thanks!

Waffle House. We have one just up the street from us. I've dropped in a few times over the years and as recently as last summer. Its about as old skool as you can get!

Burger Boy, Burger Girl? Wagner's? Franco's or Frontier Grill on Dixie Highway? Or even Twig & Leaf?

Burger Girl on Frankfort Avenue. I've enjoyed several diner-style omelets with really good diner-style hash browns. A bit more pricey than Waffle House.

+1

2 egg omelets are $5.95, and 3 eggs are $6.95; both come with your choice of any three ingredients!. It's local, and been there forever (since the mid-60's anyways). They also used to make their own pies, which were wonderful (DK if they still do that).
