We ate there last night and we declare it excellent. We each chose dishes we had consumed at the other Indian restaurants for comparison sake. I requested that my Channa Saag, be prepared "Indiana hot." And yes I know what that means. Actually with the first bite it was obvious that it was "American hot." The server (who perhaps is also the owner, maybe?) came back to see if it was too hot, and I told him no, and that it couldn't possibly be Indian hot. He agreed and admitted that the chef was too scared to send it out that way, as most Americans just can't handle it. He promised to "let me have it" the next time we're in. And that will be soon.
Daughter had Channa Massala and hubby had Ckicken Jafrezelle (sp I'm sure.) Both declared that these dishes come out ahead in a comparison to Kashmir, which is where we usually wind for a convient geographical reason. Royal's food seems to have a "cleaner" taste--hard to put your finger on but the dishes just seem to be prepared with more care.
Three dinners, + two iced teas + a bread basket was a few cents over $40 before tip.
