Caviar

Looking for a rec on a great value caviar, mostly for garnish, not pearl spoons full.

Also a local source.

It isn’t beluga, but it’s hard to get more local than Shuckman’s spoonfish caviar.

I certainly can't disagree that Shuckman's has a well-earned reputation. If by any chance you're seeking to spring for the real Black Sea thing, I know that Golden Key Market at 3821 Bardstown Road in Buechel, which is run by Russian immigrants, does or at least used to carry an impressive selection.

When I was closer in I bought his salmon roe which was quite good.

I need to get out more. I've never run into this market.

I haven't been for a while, though, since before the pandemic. But I doubt it has changed much!

Shuckman has been selling caviar world wide for some time, even to customers in the Ukraine, Poland, et al!
