Del Taco Coming to Plainview

by Vince Yustas » Wed Feb 06, 2008 1:59 am

From the C-J. Anybody know anything about them?

"Plainview to get new Del Taco restaurant

A new restaurant franchise -- Del Taco -- will replace the BP gas station on Hurstbourne Parkway in Plainview.

Del Taco, based in California, was purchased in 2006 by Sagittarius Brands, which also owns the Captain D’s restaurants.

The new Del Taco, the first in Kentucky, is expected to open later this year at 1323 S. Hurstbourne Parkway. The Jeffersontown City Council on Monday approved a detailed development plan for the restaurant."

They have them out West. I suppose it's a little better than Taco Bell, but what isn't?

I remember them also having burgers and fries. I'd rather have a Taco Tico in that spot, to be honest.

Del Taco is our "fast food" choice when we are in Southern California....but it is fast food. That being said, it's light-years beyond anything that comes out of Taco Bell.

We had them in South Carolina until they were bought out by Taco Bell and they were definitely a much better! They also have a much larger menu with more choices of meats etc. It will definitely be a welcome addition to Louisville.

Quite a bold move on their part challenging Taco Bell on their home turf!

I used to live in the San Diego area, and Del Taco was by FAR superior to Taco Bell. I am looking forward to them coming here!

How does Del Taco compare to Taco Tico? It's not very difficult to be better than The Bell...

Well, I personally don't care for Taco Tico either... although it is better than the Bell.

What about Taco Bueno?? Has anyone had their food? If so, how do you compare all of the "fast food" Mexican?

Now all we need is Taco John's. Every time I go back home, I have to hit that place. My parents think I'm crazy.

The closest one is in Frankfort. It's almost worth the drive!

Of the places I eat in Frankfort, never thought I'd ever hear of Taco John's as a destination place! But I can certainly understand the temptation for favorite food... lord knows whenever I think about a trip to California In-N-Out weighs heavily on my mind. >_<
