Wine Club

We're currently enjoying a gift subscription to Shaker & Spoon that curates cocktails. We've made and tried all sorts of cocktails that we'd never heard of and mostly enjoyed. Now I'm interested in a wine subscription service that will deliver wines I'm not familiar with and will enlarge my wine appreciation boundaries. Left to my own devices, I'd drink Riesling till the end of days. S & S provided the mixers and recipes for 12 cocktails in the monthly box. I'd want a wine box with two bottles per month probably. Recommendations?

The California Wine Club has been a longtime sponsor of our wine-appreciation website and forum (since 1997!) and I can testify that they're legitimate. They source wines from small California wineries that generally don't otherwise have distribution outside the state.

The only possible concern is shipping. I've heard that they have to boost it for Kentucky because of the way the new sate alcohol shipping laws stick it to out-of-state buyers, but if that's not an issue, then I definitely recommend them. The Premier Series is their most affordable level ($41.95 for two wines), but the wines are still good value.

I'm not sure if they offer delivery, but if you're interested in a local option, Nouvelle Bar & Bottle in NuLu offers a monthly wine club.

I believe they began it during the pandemic, and they offer a great selection!

Westport Liquors (in Westport Village shopping ctr) has a couple of wine clubs. I am not a member, but have heard very good things, and everyone there is very knowledgeable! I'd suggest checking them out on line and/or talking to them!

Also, Scott Harper, a master sommelier, has/had a wine club operating out of his Cuvee Wine Table Restaurant in Springhurst.

Another local option. Check their wine club link.
