In Season Restaurant

by MichaelBolen » Thu May 20, 2021 12:38 am

Has anyone been to this new spot downtown? Looks like something from LA or NYC. Sweetgreen comes to mind from LA. The concept is seasonal fresh farm bowls with rotating mostly locally raised greens, rice, and meats. The closet thing we have is Core Life but this is locally owned and ten times better. I tried it a few days ago and will definitely go back. Unfortunately they have odd weekday hours I presume to serve the office workers downtown. You can order online delivery I think through them and grubhub.

Robin, definitely. Let us know what you think. I'd be curious to see how their food holds up in delivery. I can tell you that it was surprisingly fresh in the store, apparently most veggies straight from the owner's farm somewhere out towards Fern Creek and Mt. Washington. Everything is made from scratch, never frozen. This includes hand made house dressings for the salads and bowls and fresh squeezed juices and cookies.

No matter how I click, I can’t see the menu without going through an entire ordering process. :x

That's related to online ordering, I think, Carla. I think one of the ordering systems that a lot of restaurants set up during the pandemic, when online ordering became huge, works that way. Dunno why, but I'm used to it now.

Just seems pretty assuming to ask me for personal information and my location before I even know whether or not there’s anything there I want to order. A shade on the arm twisting side, you know?

Oops, yes, that's non-standard. A lot of places ask you to order an order form to look at the menu, but not that other stuff!

I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and chalk it up to me looking at it on an iOS system.

Okay, Carla, I think I've solved it for you. :)

Go to the regular website (https://www.getinseason.com/, the one that Heather posted in a reply, not the app link that Michael put in the original. When you get to the page, don't click the big "Order online" button. Rather, click the three little lines in the upper right corner. That will take you to a page where you can click "Spring Menu," and that button should take you there. It does for me. :)

That’s called a hamburger button. For obvious reasons. It’s all too appropriate for this forum, if not for that restaurant.

It worked! Thanks Robin!
And what a delicious looking menu it is too. :D
