Capital Grille planned at Oxmoor

Plans were filed recently to build a Capital Grille in the parking lot in front of Oxmoor Center. The Capital Grille is a chain of upscale steakhouses owned by Darden, which also owns Olive Garden and LongHorn Steakhouse. I’m not sure Louisville needs another steakhouse, especially with Malone’s opening soon, but I guess we’ll see.

This restaurant will be at the west end of the parking lot, in front of Von Maur. There was also a plan last year to build a Cooper’s Hawk restaurant at the other end of the parking lot, in front of Macy’s; I don’t know if that’s still active, or if it was canceled because of the pandemic.

Agree that I'm not sure we "need" another steak house, but we lost Eddie Merlot's this past year, and this is another (decent) recognizable chain! I'd guess the Eddie Merlot lovers will flock there (along with Ruth's Criss and Morton's) and it will not compete with Malone's!

I personally am not a Cooper's Hawk lover, although we have a LOT of friends who are! Their reason for being is the proprietary wine blends. While I think the wine is adequate, and the food may be above average, in total I'll go local for a lot better taste at a much lower price point!
