Another great restaurateur has left us too soon!

by Linda B » Fri Apr 16, 2021 7:33 pm

Last night we lost my brother, Fred Kunz III, my friend, a well respected Louisville restaurateur (Kunz's the Dutchman & Kunz's Fourth & Market), father, grandfather, great grandfather, Trinity High School graduate and a friend to so many. My heart is breaking as I write this. He was a gentle giant in so many ways; many times a quiet presence, with a quick wit and very dry sense of humor. He was uncle and godfather to my daughter, Christina Bayens Faust, and uncle to my son, Craig Bayens. He was passionate about food and we shared so many conversations about dishes we had tried or wanted to try, recipes, restaurants and so much more. His favorite spot was sitting, watching the ocean ebb and flow. He fought a short but brave fight with liver cancer that took him way too young. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers. If you wish to honor him with a remembrance, please consider making a donation in his name to Apron, Inc., a cause that was near and dear to his heart.

Oh, Linda, I'm so sorry. Peace and strength to you and your family. Thanks for letting us know, and about the Apron Inc benefit as well.
