Storming Crab opens on Outer Loop

by Rich S » Fri Feb 26, 2021 2:20 pm

Storming Crab is now open at 4809 Outer Loop — that’s the old O’Charley’s location in front of Jefferson Mall. The other two Cajun seafood restaurants planned in that area — Captain Crab and 502 Crab House — should also be open soon; both have started hiring. I’m not very interested in boiled seafood, but all these Cajun seafood places seem to offer fried fish as well, so I may have to check them out.

Weird how these things come in waves. A few years ago it was hot chicken and tire stores. This year it's boiled seafood and car washes.

Rolls Pollo was right next door to a car wash (where Arby’s is now in St Matthews). My mom would take our car to be cleaned. and we’d walk over and enjoy the dancing chicken and dinner! And the old Carolina Shrimp gave way to another trendy thing— tacos!

Looking forward to the Storming Crab in St. Matthews…

I’m all for more seafood restaurants. Pier 17 is casual, fun and has oysters. (Almost mandatory for me.) Another of that ilk in St. Matthews should do well. Do you know where it might be Marie?
