Half-Peach Bakery

by Rich S » Sun Jan 03, 2021 3:11 pm

Half-Peach Bakery, which specializes in vegan fare, has found a new brick-and-mortar location. Half-Peach was one of the businesses forced out of their building on Oechsli Avenue when the roof collapsed more than a year ago. From Facebook:

COMING SOON — In 2019, our store suffered a sudden roof collapse. We had to move out and have been searching for a way to continue ever since. We're happy to announce that we've found a new place and decided to move into the building directly behind our old one -- 170 Sears Ave!

How to support
Since the roof collapse was a structural issue, it was not covered by insurance. We can’t use our old ovens in the new place, so we’re raising funds to do the remodeling and buy new equipment through gift card, tshirt & ebook sales. If you purchase more than $100 total of gift cards or merch before we open, your name will be part of the design of our new ceiling. We’re so grateful for your support all these years!

Glad to know that! I just drove by there the other day and noticed the roof is still gaping open. I'm surprised there hasn't been legal pressure on the owner to either fix it or demolish it, but maybe they're judgement-proof.
