Sorry I never got to Chilakiles, menu looks great. The new burger place is Week-End Burgers, a food truck-to-brick and mortar spot. https://www.facebook.com/WEEKENDBURGERS1

For me the saddest thing was the way so many people in and out of the industry responded by insisting that various segments of society were expendable .
BUT...
Having said that, there were remarkably brilliant people that stepped up and showed what it means to be compassionate and part of a humanitarian society.
Hats off to APRON and Gary Fox, as well as Pints and Union for all their very hard work helping those in the industry just to keep it together for another month, week or day. We should all be remembering them even after this is over.
Perhaps you can think of other as well?

Many of us order from Amazon. You can designate Apron as the recipient of Amazons charity for a small percentage of the order cost that will be donated to a charity. I use Apron. It's not a large amount but it all adds up.

There is no extra cost to the customer.

I walked past Shenanigan’s today, open again. If you want to hang out in close quarters with a largely maskless crowd, it looks like it’s the place to be.

Must be an Irish bar thing. O' Shea's on Main St. is the same way.

Or maybe not. As far as I can tell, Irish Rover does it right.

I noticed that Shenanigan's was open as well, and yes, with a large table of maskless diners at the front table. I look forward to warmer weather when we can resume dining at our favorite (outdoor) table.

I thought they had to close because they ran out of money. Am I thinking of a different stereotypically-named Irish bar?

It's the same one. They closed around Thanksgiving due to the Covid restrictions and never made it clear if it was permanent or not. Past patrons (including lots of Bellarmine grads) set up a go fund me page, raised around 13k. It always seemed like it would return at some point, didn't think it would be this soon.

The Hilltop Tavern is another one that announced a recent, temporary closure. I've never been, don't know if it's more bar or restaurant, but they "hope" to reopen in the spring.

That'd be a good name for a hipster beer joint:
"Stereotypically-Named Irish Bar." So postmodern.

It's definitely a place I'd see people talking about and think, "Sure, I'll go once." Overpriced taps, all the food is straight out of a Sysco truck, don't change the fryer oil often enough... It'll be the "Springtime for Hitler" of hipster tap bars.
