Tell us your favorite biscuit

What restaurant is your go-to for delicious biscuits? It doesn't matter if it's a biscuit-only eatery or a comfort-food spot or even high-end joint that does a great biscuit on the side, if it's extra good I'd like to know about it. Extra points if you can articulate what makes it so good.

Favorite biscuit is the one in my hand! With butter and apple butter.
I seem to remember the Hickory House (Taylorsville Rd and Bardstown Rd intersection about 20 years ago) had a pretty good cook that took it as a challenge to make the biggest biscuit around. The last time we ate there he had used a #10 can to cut the dough. We then cut the biscuit like a pizza! Not sure it was my favorite biscuit but it was fun!

I might be banned from the forum, but here goes...I really like Popeyes biscuit...probably made with Crisco!

For me it's Biscuits and Gravy at Wild Eggs with half of it with each kind of gravy and a couple of fried eggs on top.

The only 2 I know of in the area are in Shepherdsville and Shelbyville.

Boujie Biscuits has my favorite. Tender without falling apart too easily, and properly seasoned. Too many biscuit recipes are just too stingy with the salt.

Do fried biscuits count? If so, I usually manage around 3-4 more than I should at Huber's in Indiana! They are as light as air, meld perfectly with honey, are appropriately hot out of the fryer (but not greasy), and melt in your mouth!

Otherwise I'm more of a Popeyes or Bojangles fan. If you get a new pan I love Boujie, but at the end of a pan they can firm up too much. At Con Huevos I still order them, but have had to send back orders with biscuits like rocks:-(

I agree with Clay. Boujie Biscuit is my favorite. Light but still substantial, soft but still hold up well to toppings and gravy and big enough that it's a meal. IMO they're perfect.
