Bamba Eggroll Co.

by Rich S » Sat Oct 10, 2020 9:30 am

I picked up food recently from Bamba Eggroll Co., which I think is the only place in town serving Filipino food, now that Lola’s is gone. I got pancit (stir-fried noodles and vegetables), a vegetable lumpia (eggroll) and an apple pie lumpia, which I was told is not a Filipino dish but was appropriate for the season. It was all very good, especially the pancit. The menu is limited, but the day I went they also had chicken adobo, a steak dish and pork BBQ.

Bamba doesn’t have its own location, but shows up at a variety of spots around the area. I found it at the Westport Road farmers market last Saturday, where it’s a regular. It’s also often at Apocalypse Brewing on Friday or Saturday evenings. And one day last week Bamba let people order for pickup or delivery from the community kitchen on Adams Street in Butchertown; I don’t know how often they do that.

Thanks, Rich! I've been wanting to check them out. Just curious, is their pancit strictly vegetarian?

Yes, it was vegetarian. I believe they said it was vegan on the menu board.
