Buffet restaurants

Golden Corral is introducing an updated restaurant ... this is from a Phoenix tv piece, and shows reduced seating, boxes of plastic single use gloves and paper towels to use when holding utensils, no more chocolate fountain, et al. I liked them, as they had fresh salads being made continuously, 8-10 Southern style (ie: overcooked) veges, good rotisserie chicken, sure it's a chain, but the food (other than steaks) and prices were attractive! Not sure how I feel about buffets still, even with changes like these.

I don't normally eat at places like Golden Corral or Ryans in Louisville because of the wide selection we have of many sorts of foods. However, I work in Charleston, WV several days per week during the academic year. There is a Golden Corral near the university where I work that I frequent maybe 2-3 times per month. It is very well-run restaurant---buffet line clean and always replenished on-time, and many workers have been working there for years which is always a good sign. I enjoy the place and appreciate the senior discount that makes it even more worthwhile.

I felt bad for them because of the friendly, longtime workstaff that know many of the customers and have always been nice to me. I was hoping Golden Corral would find a solution. I look forward to going back there when fall classes begin (fingers crossed!).
