She is a legend. Never fully appreciated in the way that her peers (Alice Waters, Jeremiah Towers, Frank Stitt, etc) enjoyed, she nonetheless carried the torch for farm to table decades before it became fashionable. Lilly’s in the 1990s was one of the best and most cutting edge restaurants in the country, and that attention to detail and warm hospitality never waned. We’ve had some amazing chefs in Louisville, but she was always the standard bearer. I hope the restaurant community gives her the send off she deserves.
