In brief (VERY brief) India has closed factories due to Covid-19, and that's where most glass bottles for yeast manufacturing come from!

Plenty of supply last weekend at the Middletown Kroger. But the empty shelves where flour used to be is stunning.

I haven't been able to find yeast for my InstaCart customers for the last three weeks. That explains it!
Flour and sugar have also been very hard to come by, but at least I have seen small quantities sporadically.

also: apparently ALDI in the usa does carry yeast. big lots might also.
