New occupant coming for long-vacant Red Pepper?

by Robin Garr » Sat Feb 29, 2020 9:19 am

No inside information, but this morning I noticed a big yellow cardboard sign out front of the building on Brownsboro west of Zorn, notifying the public of a liquor license application. What a long, strange trip that place has had ... let's hope the new occupant can make a lease deal that will allow it to make a little profit.

Nothing official, but it looks as if Rick Bartlett, the pianist and singer who's often at Buck's Restaurant and Bar, will open Ricky B's Club Cafe in the building. May it live long and prosper.

Ricky B's Club Cafe is open now, according to the Food & Dining website. The chef is Anthony Joseph Pizzitola IV, who used to be sous chef at Buck’s. The menu's on Facebook.

I wish them well. I hope they got a better lease arrangement than any of their predecessors.

Is Ricky B's bar-dining friendly?

They have food, but it’s pretty clearly not their priority. I’ve been all over their social media (they don’t seem to have a website) and can’t find a menu. Scattered references to fries and a lava cake. But they do have food. If you decide to go, let us know!

Found menu on their facebook page . . . check out https://www.facebook.com/rbclubcafe/

there are fewer than a dozen items altogether, and if I remember it's been like that from day one!
