Welcome to the Louisville Restaurants Forum, a civil place for the intelligent discussion of the local restaurant scene and just about any other topic related to food and drink in and around Louisville.
New place on Spring Street where Ann's on the river used to be (149 Spring). Shares space and kitchen with First Edition( Breakfast place). Good food and great service went there for lunch. Have $5 Margaritas and today they had them at lunch for $2.50. Not your traditional Mexican place, had more of a Tex Mex vibe. We split the Fried Tacos and they were very good, the beef was fried I think on a flat top and had crispy edges, it came with pickled onions and picked jalapenos. Give it a shot, they've been open a week and the service and food was great. This isn't their first rodeo. They also own 812 Pizza in Georgetown, The Standard Plate and Pour in New Albany and apparently bought Tuckers Std. also in New Albany. Busy folks!
Hmmm, when did Ann's close? My wife and I were thinking about crossing the river for some of their fried chicken a couple of weeks back. I guess I'm glad we went somewhere else but I'll miss their fried chicken, mixed greens and corn cakes. Sorry for the sidetrack. This new place sounds intriguing enough to try.
If the chorizo in the breakfast burrito at the early edition is any indicator as to the quality of the "Mexican" food this place is serving, I doubt they'll be in business very long.

Yes sir. I had the misfortune of eating at the breakfast side today. However, I can only assume that being owned by the same people, with the menu having been designed by the same person, cooking from the same kitchen, with an item that's on both menus, it's most likely the same chorizo served in both parts. And that chorizo, sir. Is not good.
