Biscuit Belly replacing Zoe’s Kitchen (Lexington Rd.)

by MarieP » Fri Sep 27, 2019 5:02 pm

I hadn’t been to Zoe’s Kitchen (old Vogue Theatre site) in some time, but they’ve closed (there are reports online that the staff had changed and service had declined). But Biscuit Belly will be replacing it with a second location (a third is coming as well, but it’s not announced where yet). Can’t wait to try it!

I don't know what biscuit belly is, but it sounds amazing! (Although, sadly describes the state of my physique right now as well...but I will ignore that!)

The 3rd is going to be in Colonial Gardens, joining Taco Luchador & Union 15 Pizza & Pints, which are already rolling.

Shaping up to be a great space for us underserved southenders. 8)

I've been three times and there's always a line to the door, with good reason. Very good, thoroughly filling biscuits. Had three different options and they were all good, though the biscuit falls apart with the saucy/gravy items. Start with hands, finish with a fork.

We have tried to get into the one in NULU, no luck. The line is ALWAYS out the door and down the block. I can not wait until the new Colonial Gardens location opens. It will be right here by our house.

We've been to Boujie Biscuit several times, and the two places sound very similar.

Anyone been to both? How do they compare?

I like both. Boujie seems more down-home, Belly a little more cheffy and creative. Boujie puts the biscuit in a paper box. Belly plates them relatively attractively. Both are good, both are affordable. I'd happily eat at either.

Following up, I gave both places good reviews, with no real statistical difference between their ratings:

Biscuit Belly, September 11, 2019

Boujie Biscuit, October 3, 2018
