Familiar With Bardstown HELP?

by RichardM » Fri Aug 23, 2019 2:25 pm

Anyone in here know about places in Bardstown KY. I need a place for lunch for 15-20 people on a Saturday in September. Would really like a private room if possible.

Thanks for any help....

Ditto on Talbott's. Seriously old school.

From another perspective, Mammy's on the main drag about two blocks north of the courthouse is a very nice country diner ... with a bourbon bar. I'm pretty sure, but not positive, that they have a private room, but it's definitely recommendable.

Ah yes, the red barn place. Forgot about that one.I love the juxtaposition of old school dining with new school bourbon appreciation. Perhaps the poster could even rent one of the Dinner Train's cars and take it on the rails! Happenin' little town that Bardstown.

Bottle & Bond at bardstown distilling near the BG parkway.

The best food/drinks in the area in my opinion.

Have to disagree with Robin - Mammy's has better food than Talbot's! Talbots does win easily on atmosphere and likely has a private room that size, but the food is "old school" with all the bad vibes that implies!

Agree with the distillery restaurant as the best food in the city.

Also try the Rickhouse Restaurant and Bar, a quite good casual steakhouse sometime for dinner (unfortunately it's not open for lunch at this time)

Eh? Where did I say otherwise, Andrew? I was discreet, but didn't actually offer a quality rating. ;)

Recommended also. One of the Castro brothers just moved there to take over the kitchen. They have a private room upstairs.
