Slightly veering off topic, claw meat makes great crab soup and it’s almost that time of year. It’s a tomato-based, late season veggie affair that is worth the hours of effort. Claw meat is super cheap and probably the most flavorful which makes it perfect for soup. If you see a good deal on claw meat, buy it.

Any respectable Louisiana households would have Tony Chachere's in the cupboard. I had a nice trip to Baltimore about 10 years ago; the recent political turmoil makes me want to go back
