Las Vegas Restaurant Suggestions

My husband and I are going to Vegas at the end of March for the first time. Does anyone have any recommendations for some restaurants?

Mon Ami Gabi at the Paris Casino offers Strip-side dining. In March the weather will be perfect.

Aquaknox in the Venetian is a fine seafood restaurant.

I never had the chance to eat at the Bellagio's Picasso, but it's a five-star restaurant decorated with original Picasso paintings.

If you want to do a buffet, try the champagne brunch at Wynn.

All of the above suggestions are pricey. If you want a good cheap breakfast, try the cafe at the Orleans. Not gourmet by any stretch, but a three-dollar steak and egg breakfast leaves more money for gambling.

For a cheap lunch, there's a Fatburger on the strip and an In-n-Out just a few blocks west of the strip on Tropicana Ave.

My wife and my favorite restaurant in Las Vegas is Rosemary's. It's off the strip on West Sahara so it's a nice break from the hustle bustle that's normal for Las Vegas. There are many wonderful restaurants on the strip which I'm sure everyone else will mention but this restaurant is certainly a nice diversion

The first time we went we almost didn't go in because it was located in a strip mall in really didn't look attractive. But we went anyway and where were we glad we did. Not only is the food wonderful but the service and atmosphere make for an extremely enjoyable evening. For us it is one of the few restaurants anywhere that we go to repeatedly when traveling!

If your looking for Old Vegas charm. Go to Battista's Hole In The Wall restaurant, in a little strip center behind the Flamingo Hotel. It is old Italian charm, very laid back with thousands of pictures of Stars that have ate there. From Frank and Dean to Bugsy and Lucky. Waiters have been there for years and have great stories. Wine is free with meal. This is a must see and go with a group, if possible, It is a sight to see. I think they have a web sight, but if not go to vegas.com under restaurants. It was rated one of Vegas.com top ten.

Never been, but #1 on my "must try" Vegas list is Tom Collicchio's 'Craft Steak'

I love the guy, plus everyone I've ever spoken to who's been puts it near the top of their list.

Google it for the website/menu, it's a meat-lovers dream. Very pricey, but probably worth it on a Vegas Vacation.

I am a big Collichio fan as well. I loved GT when he was there and Craft was one of my favorite restaurants in NYC for a while. I went to Craft Steak in NYC about 2 years ago. It wasn't that great. Decent steaks, but obscenely expensive. Not sure if Vegas branch is the same.

^ Yes, looking at the menu hurts, as far as the $$$ goes.

My most trusted 'foodie' friend swears by it, but he's only been to the one in Vegas. He is rather loaded, and went with all the Kobe stuff, which I probably wouldn't do.

Anyhow, Tom C. is near the top of my 'man crush' list, and I will definitely check out any restaurant of his on the rare occasions I am in NYC or Vegas in the future.

I better start saving up now.

Picasso at the Bellagio is outstanding. The service alone is almost worth the price. For a very casual lunch or dinner, I can recommend Daniel Marquez's Taquerito Canonita at the Venetian. The Santa Rosa Barbacoa de Puerco saved my life. I was dying from hunger after a long day of flying to Vega without food. Cafe Gelato at the Bellagio offers the best pastries in town. It is a bit hidden; back across from the guest elevators in the original tower (fountains in front). You can pull up menus of many of the restaurants along the strip on the appropriate hotel web site. Enjoy! The food scene is Vegas is incredible.

A fried of mine who is a chef in Chicago and loves to gamble in Vegas recommends the following:

Wynn: Bertolotti, Alex, Daniel Boulud
Bellagio: Sensi (casual) Circo, Le Cirque
Venetian: Valentino
Caesars: Bradley Ogden, Il Molino
MGM: Fiamma

I can vouch for Picasso. One of the better dining experiences I've enjoyed. The food was delicious, the service impeccable and the wine pairing (we did the Chef's menu) was definitely better than average.

My husband and I went to Vegas in September. One of our favorites -- the crepes at Phillipe's in the Bellagio. They also have the world's largest chocolate fountain.

We were there on our last day and we were searching for breakfast. It was wonderful!

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Lotus of Siam. Thai might sound funny for Las Vegas, and it's well off the strip and not the least glitzy; but it's consistently one of the most highly rated restaurants in Lost Wages, and one of the most highly rated Thai eateries in the US. Also has a remarkably good wine list that pairs unusually well with the food.

A favorite of mine is Rosewood Grille just off the strip across the street from the Monte Carlo.

Also, I know this may not be a popular answer around here but... Last time in Vegas my wife and I ate at the top of the Stratusphere (sp?) Tower. The Tower is a tourist trap and not very classy but the restaurant was very good and the view is absolutely incredible! I would have never gone had a friend of mine not suggested it.

My BIL used to live in LV and we went there frequentlly so I've tried many restaurants there. I highly recommend Lotus of Siam. Amazingly good and reasonably priced. For a very special dinner I recommend Bertolotti in the Wynn. We had an unbelievably good meal here last spring. They specialize in seafood and fly all of their fish in from Italy daily. They bring the fish out to your table so you can see it and there were many kinds I had never even heard of. We chose a chef's choice dinner which if you are adventorous is a good choice. It is quite pricey but it is a lot of food and more of an experience than just a meal. The service was impeccable.
