Great article-- except, of course, for the picture affixed to Jam Cake...

I didn't know skillet cornbread had the name "spider" or that beer cheese originated in KY

And of course, real banana pudding is made from scratch, with "cow slobbers" :D

My favorite recipe for skillet cornbread is spider bread from the American Heritage cookbook, which gives the correct (skillet with legs) explanation. There's nothing specifically Kentucky about it, though.
