APRON's Taste of Independents Sunday!

by Marsha L. » Sat Jul 21, 2018 8:06 am

Tomorrow is APRON Inc.'s annual Taste of Independents at the Olmsted! From 1-4, you can enjoy food from over 30 local independent restaurants along with adult beverages, live music from the Robbie Bartlett duo, and our famous silent auction.

APRON is an emergency financial relief fund for independent restaurant and food service workers in the Metro Area who find themselves in difficulties through no fault of their own. We've granted over $200,000 to your favorite cooks and servers in the last 7 or so years since its inception. We're a formal 501c3 which means your ticket price, silent auction purchases and donations are all tax-deductible.

During the flooding this past spring, we were able to help pay rent for 35 families of restaurant employees who were out of work while their employers were shut down due to damage. Over $25K went out to our community in the space of a few weeks, and we're working to rebuild the treasury.

Tickets cost $50 in advance, $60 at the door. You can purchase tickets online at aproninc.org, on the events tab. It's always a wonderful afternoon, it's indoors out of the heat and weather, and you'll be sorry if you miss it. Join us for an epic afternoon - and bring your friends!
