What do you do when the check is wrong (to your benefit)?

I find that when a check is incorrect, it is usually to the benefit of the patron rather than to the restaurant. Maybe the server forgot to enter a round of drinks or an app while in the weeds or a clearly-stated-on-the-menu upcharge didn't make it to the check.

It's happened to me, Jay, and I don't hesitate to point out the mistake to the server. It seems the only fair thing to do, since they'd probably have to eat the under-charge.

Agree completely, Robin. It's the ethically correct path.

I always point it out. It's kind of the same as giving money back when you get too much change.
