What do you like to smear on your burger?

by Greg R. » Thu Jan 24, 2008 11:11 pm

In the few years I lived here I've never quite figured this one out..What's with ketchup on Burgers? It's not that I've never heard of this...it just seems strange that most places make it the "default" here. If you don't remember to ask for mayo or mustard when you order you're likely to be staring at your food 10 minutes waiting for your condiments while the rest of the table is eating. Even if you do remember to order mustard or mayo initially you only actually get it about half the time and even then they look at you like you just ordered white zin at the Oak Room.

Even more puzzling is the open faced burger served dry as a bone with one big sheet of lettuce and a four inch thick slice of tomato (maybe an equally daunting half onion and pickle)...but that's a whole 'nother poll.

So mustard, mayo, ranch fans here's your chance to sound off. Maybe it's just me. Am I the only one that prefers that my burgers not taste like they came out of a Happy Meal (not that's there's anything wrong with that)?

I was always confused by Sonic burgers. You are forced to choose between the Mustard burger or the Mayo burger. What do you do if you want both? Buy two and smear the buns together?

Can we have more choices? I lube mine up with several lubricants. I like a sloppy burger. Unless I am at Proof or Cheesecake Factory.

I believe that would fall under "F - suicide style"....or is it "kamikaze style"? I'm trying to think back to my youth where we put a squirt of each fountain drink in our cup.

Can't beat a good pepper crusted burger with Dijon mustard. Unless you do one with blue cheese!

OMG, FRESH cracked pepper, dijon AND bleu. I must've died. Can we throw on 3 thick strips of uncured crispy bacon? Maybe a few caramelized onions?

I'm all about Cumberland Brews' bison burger with pepper jack cheese and just a little bit of spicy mustard.

This is definitely not what I have in mind. It's got way too much cheese thats not Blue Cheese and the burger itself looks very greasy, of course I can't tell if it's got cracked pepper or not and I'm sure it doesn't have Dijon mustard. Of course you can't expect very much from Wendy's.

Actually I even don't like bacon on a burger with this combination!
