Yes it was! It was Shariat's for many years. However, Shariat was the second (?) occupant. It was purpose-built for the original Maharajah, but Shariat's was the successor, and longest-lived occupant. Since then it's housed a number of short-lived places, some of them - particularly Red Pepper - worthy of lasting, but it doesn't seem to have been possible for the successors to make their numbers work.
