Fried chicken throwdown Saturday; needs volunteers

Slow Food Bluegrass presents the 4th annual Fried Chicken Throwdown this Saturday, Oct. 21, Noon-5 p.m. This sustainably inspired culinary competition will be at Resurfaced: The Liberty Build located at 319 S. Shelby St.

Admission to the event is FREE. Tastes prepared by local chefs will be available for purchase. Tastes include Best Fried Chicken ($3), Best Vegetarian Side ($2), and Best Dessert ($2).

Local Chefs will be competing for a $500 cash prize in each category. We need YOU to determine the winner! Winners will be selected by ballot voting amongst the attendees. Proceeds from the event will go towards Slow Food Bluegrass’ Garden Grant Program.

Marksbury Farm Market
POLLO
Red Herring
The Ville Taqueria
Wiltshire On Market

Interesting that neither Royals nor Joellas will be there. I remember trying them two years or so ago at the fried chicken festival one in Portland. That might have been a specifically hot chicken thing, though. Anyway, I went to last year's event and it was great.
