Thats correct, a sign went up this weekend next to El Nopal in Sellersburg. The sign says Beijing Grill and Sushi Bar. Has anyone heard anything?

Sushi in Sellersburg...It just dosen't seem right...

It sounds more like an album title for my imaginary band "The Bong-Water Daquoris"!

Special of the day...Panfish(Bluegill or Crappie) from Deam Lake atop "seasoned" Uncle Ben's?

I know the area has built up over the past few years but REALLY!!!
I don't see it happening...

I see it as throwing a chess player upon a rugby pitch and watching what happens next!

I think the area has grown more than you think. I've seen 6-7 new neighborhoods spring up near me in the last 2 years. Head up Highway 60 some day and you'll see what has been coming in there.

That being said, maybe it will work, maybe it won't, but there is an absence of any decent Asian food in the area.

Tran, Kansai and Kobe have all done well in Indiana in relatively close proximity. There is no reason to believe that this place can not also do well. It is close to New Albany and the ever growing area around Northside Christian Church.

We went to Maido the other night. I know they're not "sushi bar" per se, as discussed previously, but I had some good roll and washed it down with Bell's Hopslam.

Can a Sellersburg sushi place do that? With kimchi potstickers? If it can, I'm there.

Maybe if you smuggle the Hopslam in.

I'm not a naysayer... for example I love the Onion. I've never had a bad meal there; And I have went out of my way several times to dine there.

BUT....... Having been reared in Southern Indiana, the idea of a Sushi Place in Sellersburg is almost as wierd as Silver Creek having a football team(but I think they might have one in a few years)

Don't you think it's a matter of the suburbs swamping the country, though? Having been reared in Louisville, the idea of there being all sorts of good eateries and stores and business parks in Middletown and J'town seems kind of weird to me, too ... ;)

I'm so old that I can remember when people said the same thing about a good beer bar in New Albany. :D
