Cincinnati wine festival and winemaker dinner highlights

by Linda C » Sun Mar 25, 2007 3:35 pm

Just got back from the festival- our second time.It was so much better this year than last! They now have carpeting in the room, and the tables were placed with enough space that crowding was not an issue. They had a fair amount of local (Ohio, KY) wineries a well as several special wineries and winemakers at hand. Our two favorites are Rombauer and Meeker; we've visited those wineries and love the big reds. We attended a winemaker dinner with Meeker at One Restaurant in Mason. It was awesome! Please check out my review on the Cinci Hot Bytes forum. I'll also post it on chowhound. What's nice about this festival is that the proceeds go to local charities. The tastins are on Friday night from 6:30-9:30, Saturday afternoons and Saturday evening same time as Friday. Last year we went on Sat night and thought it was too crowded, but that may be because the room was smaller and the setup was different. But this year was a blast! Also, Ohio is all smoke free now and we enjoyed that immensely!!
