Sounds as if they responded appropriately, but yeah, that's a bummer, and can't help their image. :(

This on the back of the recent shortages will not help them in the least little bit.

Also, from an internal perspective, recalls like this are extremely expensive and time consuming to deal with.

Here's a link to the Comfy Cow's public response:

http://www.thecomfycow.com/comfy-cow-response/

We took immediate corrective actions and tested clean with the follow up inspection. We voluntarily recalled the pints that were made for our retail stores. We have taken extra precautions to make sure that none of the voluntary recalled pint lot numbers are in the scoop shops. Again, the safety of our loyal customers is our first priority. THANK YOU for your support!!

The news last night (NBC/3) said that the possible outbreak was discovered back in July, but Comfy Cow didn't broadcast it until now. They also showed that Kroger still carried the potentially bad lots, and had not been notified of the recall.

Does anyone else have the feeling that they may have grown a tad too fast, before all the ducks were in a row?
