I really miss Jay Denham from Park Place days with his masterful mad charcuterie skills. Who has the best charcuterie plate in Louisville today and why do you recommend it.

I like the one at Artesano. It's priced right, the meats and cheeses are delicious, and you can pick what you want. (You're not stuck with whatever they need to get rid of.) Plus, all the little extras like fruits, nuts and pickles make it interesting. There was some fruit jam on the last one we had and it was so good I ate it with my fork all by itself.

La Chasse has a great one! Oft make a meal off of it with Isaac Fox's increadable wine cellar selections!
If life's a Banquet, what's with all the Tofu?

Not a true charcuterie, but I like the county ham and cheese "tastings" at Garage Bar. Also, the Entremes at Havana Rumba is a real bargain with ham, chorizo, olives, cheese, almonds, quince paste, caramel, etc.

I would add Mercato Italiano as potentially my favorite( and I second Artesano) The charcuterie platter at Mercato is large, great selection and absolutely gorgeous.

I'm not a meat eater but a couple of my friends have raved about the charcuterie plate at Red Hog, and the C-J agrees this morning.

Jay is at Red Hog and is still making hams and charcuterie. Everything is made in house.

Thanks everyone! Some great suggestions. Good to know that Jay is plying his trade in town. Will get over to check Red Hog out!
