Kathmandu Kitchen and Bar

by Rich S » Tue Mar 14, 2017 10:53 am

This Nepali restaurant in Buechel opened last summer, but I wasn’t aware of it until last week, and haven’t had a chance to visit yet. The menu, which is fairly limited, seems similar to what was served at the now-closed Mount Everest View restaurant — momos, thukpa (noodle soup), chow mein — but also includes sukuti, which is apparently a kind of Nepali jerky.

Its address is 3825 Bardstown Road, but it’s actually just around the corner facing Bradford Drive (the old location of Dasha Barbours Southern Bistro, which has moved a few blocks to Steier Lane). That’s on the stretch of Bardstown Road parallel to Buechel Bypass that has a variety of international restaurants.

Me too! I really liked Mount Everest View, and also got to know the owners through interviewing them for an article. Their closing was very sad. I wonder if Kathmandu is the same guys? I'm pretty sure they weren't implicated in the import shenanigans that took down the grocery next door that they rented from.

Thanks for the heads up. That's definitely not on my usual trek, so nice to know I should head over that way.
