More Pizza!

by Mark R. » Mon Mar 13, 2017 2:39 pm

New story was just posted in business first thing that Chef Allan Rosenberg who started Papalinos is going to be opening a new pizza restaurant called Butchertown Pizza Hall. It'll be interesting to see what he does with this venture.

I look forward to trying it, and I hope he finds long-term success with this venture.

I just read that his new restaurant is going into the old Halls Cafeteria, which is directly across from the slaughterhouse. Not sure that's the best location because of some of the lovely odors in the area. It's certainly convenient but...

The prevailing winds usually seem to blow more of the stink south and east, towards the Mellwood Ave side of the plant, so it may not be too bad. In any case, the smell doesn't seem to have hurt other businesses near there too badly.

Yeah, like the pricey Butchertown Grocery? Not to mention that Hall's had a caf there for generations. Isn't the Fisher plant a good bit to the east of that point also?

No, the plan is directly across the street from this building. Actually I think many of the workers from the plant used to go there for lunch before it closed last year. It's probably no more than about 100 feet from the main entrance. Significantly closer than Butchertown Grocery. The building with the X on it is the building where the restaurant will be going.
